Stone Catfish

The Stone Catfish is an ideal choice for any freshwater aquarium. Its small size and peaceful nature make it an excellent companion for other aquarium dwellers. With a maximum size of 3cm, it is the perfect addition to any tank.

In nature, this fish resides in slow moving streams and small rivers. Their native habitats usually consist of a soft substrate with plenty of hiding spaces such as driftwood or large stones. Ideally, these conditions should be mimicked in the aquariums they are kept in. They prefer a pH range of 5.5 - 7.5 and are known to be intolerant to fluctuations of dissolved oxygen and nitrate concentrations. 

Stone catfish are often kept in nano aquariums as small as 10 litres, however they do prefer being in the company of others of there own species. 20 litres is of water is necessary for a trio. This fish is particularly know for its completely peaceful nature making it compatible with almost any other community fish.
