Kuhli Loach

The Kuhli Loach (Pangio kuhlii), also known as the Coolie Loach, is a slender, eel-like freshwater fish native to the slow-moving streams and rivers of Southeast Asia. Its distinctive banded body and peaceful nature make it a popular choice for aquariums.

• Behavior: Peaceful and shy; highly social and thrives in groups of six or more. Often burrows and hides during the day, becoming active at night.
• Tank Requirements: soft, sandy substrate. Provide plenty of hiding spots like plants, caves, and driftwood.
• Diet: Omnivorous; enjoys sinking pellets, algae wafers, and occasional live or frozen foods such as bloodworms and brine shrimp.
• Lifespan: Typically lives 8-10 years with proper care.
• Max Size: Reaches up to 3-4 inches (7.5-10 cm) in captivity.
