The Knight Goby (Stigmatogobius sadanundio), is a brackish/ fresh water species known for its silvery-blue body, bold black markings, and inquisitive nature. Native to estuaries, mangroves, and coastal rivers of India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia, it thrives in slightly brackish to freshwater environments when well maintained.

Behavior: Semi-aggressive and territorial; best kept alone or with fast, similarly sized brackish-tolerant fish. May prey on smaller fish.

Tank Requirements: Fine gravel or sand substrate, driftwood, and plenty of hiding spots.

Diet: Prefers live or frozen food. Will accept generally available fish food such as pellets, wafers, etc.

Lifespan: Typically lives 3–5 years with proper care.

Max Size: Grows up to 3–4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in captivity.

Growth Rate: Moderate; reaches adult size in about 6–10 months.
