Indian Flying Barb (Esomus danrica) is a slender, fast-swimming freshwater fish native to rivers, ponds, and irrigation canals across India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
Key Care Points:
Behavior & Swimming: Peaceful and highly active, best kept in groups of six or more. They are strong mid- to upper-level swimmers that dart rapidly across the tank and are constantly on the move, making them entertaining to watch.
Tank Requirements: Prefers clean, well-oxygenated water. They appreciate gentle to moderate water flow similar to their natural river habitats.
Diet: Omnivorous. Accepts flakes, small pellets, and enjoys live or frozen foods such as daphnia, mosquito larvae, and brine shrimp.
Max Size: Around 4 inches (10 cm).
