Female Neon Koi Betta

The Fluorescent Koi Betta is not dyed, painted, or injected with chemicals. Its glow comes from a natural genetic modification process first developed by scientists using genes from marine organisms like jellyfish and corals. These genes produce fluorescent proteins, which are then passed down from parent to offspring through regular breeding. This means the fish is born with its colors and will keep them for life, unlike cruelly artificially dyed fish whose color fades and whose health suffers. In the case of the koi variety, the same genetic modification is combined with selective breeding for koi-style patch patterns, creating fish that are both healthy and neon.
