The Blue Three Spot Gourami (Trichopodus trichopterus), also known as the Opaline Gourami or Blue Gourami, is a peaceful, hardy freshwater fish known for its pale blue body and three distinct spots. Originating from Southeast Asia, it’s popular in aquariums for its vibrant color and ease of care.
Key Care Points:
Behavior: Generally peaceful but can be territorial, especially with its own species. Best kept with other calm, similarly-sized tank mates.
Tank Requirements: Minimum 30 gallons with plenty of and hiding spots.
Diet: Omnivorous; enjoys a varied diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, and occasional live or frozen foods.
Lifespan: Can live 4-6 years with proper care.
